As we first revealed on FearHQ.com<\/a>, the\u00a0first clip from this summer’s Evil Dead Burn\u00a0just dropped, and you’ll never look at a candle the same way again. In this new sneak peek, a young woman under Deadite control drinks\u00a0hot\u00a0candle wax, and it’s hard not to flinch while watching.<\/p>\n

Of course, this sort of messed-up body horror is why people love the Evil Dead movies, and we’re sure this is actually rather tame compared to what else is to come next month.<\/p>\n

The clip ends with this Deadite being locked up in the basement, only for another to appear outside the house, and he looks far more formidable than the wax-drinking girl. Oh, and he just so happens to have a demonic dog in tow. Let the madness commence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Evil Dead Burn\u00a0unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date, blazing onto big screens with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem,”\u00a0reads the movie’s synopsis.<\/p>\n

“After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home,”\u00a0it continues.\u00a0“As one by one they are transformed into Deadites\u2014turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell\u2014she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on…even in death.”<\/p>\n

Legendary filmmaker\u00a0Sam Raimi first kicked off the now-iconic\u00a0horror franchise with his 1981 directorial debut,\u00a0The Evil Dead,\u00a0which followed five friends in a cabin in the woods as they accidentally released horrifying demons.\u00a0Evil Dead II\u00a0was released in 1987, with\u00a0Army\u00a0of Darkness\u00a0concluding the trilogy in 1992.<\/p>\n

Since then, we’ve had 2013’s\u00a0Evil Dead\u00a0and 2023’s\u00a0Evil Dead Rise, helmed by\u00a0Fede \u00c1lvarez and\u00a0Lee Cronin, respectively.\u00a0Evil Dead Wrath\u00a0has also been announced for an\u00a0April 7, 2028, release.\u00a0Writer and director Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County) will step behind the camera to tell another standalone story connected to\u00a0the Book of the Dead.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That movie’s cast\u00a0includes\u00a0Charlotte Hope (The Nun), Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat), Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass), Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road), Ella Newton (Dangerous Animals), Elizabeth Cullen (Diabolic), and newcomer Ella Oliphant.<\/p>\n

Evil Dead Burn, meanwhile, stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, George Pullar, Maude Davey and Greta Van Den Brink<\/p>\n

The movie\u00a0was directed by S\u00e9bastien Vani\u010dek and written by Florent Bernard & S\u00e9bastien Vani\u010dek.\u00a0Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi produce. The executive producers are Romel Adam, Bruce Campbell, Lee Cronin and Jose Canas. Vani\u010dek is joined behind the camera by director of photography Philip Lozano, production designer Nick Connor, editor Maxime Caro and costume designer Sarah Voon.<\/p>\n

Evil Dead Burn\u00a0opens in theaters on July 10.<\/p>\n
