For richer or poorer! Less than a week after tying the knot at London\u2019s Old Marylebone Town Hall, newlyweds Dua Lipa<\/a> and Callum Turner<\/a> jetted off to picturesque Palermo, Sicily for a star-studded, no-expense-sparred, three-day wedding weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are both in a place financially where they could afford to throw their dream party and bring everyone there first class so that\u2019s what they did,\u201d a source tells Star. \u201cIt cost them a fortune, but they say it was worth every penny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Per Vanity Fair<\/a>, Lipa, 30, and Turner, 36, exchanged vows on Saturday, June 6, at Villa Valguarnera in front of family and friends<\/a>, including Donatella Versace<\/a>, Joe Alwyn<\/a>, Charli XCX<\/a> and Mark Ronson<\/a>, while Elton John<\/a> serenaded them on the piano with \u201cYour Song.\u201d<\/p>\n

A reception followed inside the 18th century mansion, per the news outlet, catered by Michelin-starred chef Tony Lo Coco and DJed by Martin Garrix<\/a> and David Guetta<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDua is still on cloud nine<\/a>,\u201d says the source. \u201cIt was all so perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not everything went off without a hitch, though.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, locals put up posters that read \u201cPalermo is not for rent\u201d and \u201cPublic spaces belong to everyone\u201d following reports that two of Sicily\u2019s city center squares would be closed for Lipa and Turner\u2019s wedding.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very unfortunate that there was this negative reaction,\u201d says Star\u2018s source. \u201cThey chose Palermo because they fell in love with the city and the people and everything else about Sicily, so to have this backlash definitely upset them.\u201d<\/p>\n

That being said, \u201cthey did everything by the book and were very respectful,\u201d the source notes. \u201cThey [also] had a lot of great interactions with locals who told them to ignore the hub bub and just enjoy their wedding<\/a>, so that helped.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adds the source: \u201cThey really did have the most incredible time.\u201d<\/p>\n
