Eve Hewson has said she had ‘big nerves’ ahead of her first day on the set of Steven Spielberg\u2019s new film Disclosure Day.<\/p>\n

Hewson recalled the moment she found out he wanted to speak to her about the role of Jane, a former nun whose partner Daniel (Josh O\u2019Connor) is a whistleblower aiming to make decades of secret information about extra-terrestrial encounters public.<\/p>\n

“I had some sort of panic attack when I found out Steven wanted to talk to me about a movie and it was a secret for some reason. I don\u2019t think I told my family, I didn\u2019t tell anybody for a while,” she told RT\u00c9 Entertainment.<\/p>\n

“I just had all this weird energy in my body and I didn\u2019t know what to do with it. So I just drove to the Westfield Century City mall [in Los Angeles] and bought loads of socks. It was a panic buy situation. What do I do with all this energy? Socks!”<\/p>\n

Spielberg told RT\u00c9 Entertainment that her \u2018extraordinary\u2019 performance in Bad Sisters<\/a> meant she got the part \u2018pretty quickly\u2019.<\/p>\n

Hewson\u2019s character\u2019s faith is at the heart of the film as she wonders how knowledge of alien life will impact peoples\u2019 beliefs.<\/p>\n

“I remember Steven said to me on set, \u2018A lot of people are going to side with your character, and it will start an interesting conversation\u2019,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It was really interesting learning about why people go into being a novitiate and thinking about why she left and that turmoil she was going through. I really enjoyed playing her.”<\/p>\n

\nThe film’s star-studded cast features Wyatt Russell, Eve Hewson, Colin Firth, Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colman Domingo<\/p>\n

Wyatt Russell also stars in the film, playing Emily Blunt\u2019s character\u2019s partner Jackson.<\/p>\n

He used the opportunity of working with Spielberg to \u2018be a sponge\u2019.<\/p>\n

“I probably annoyed him with all the questions, and I just hung around him while he was shooting other stuff,” he told RT\u00c9 Entertainment.<\/p>\n

“What was incredible is, he was so invested in the film and the day, it\u2019s incredible the energy he brings after this long a career – it doesn\u2019t get old to him, every day to him is a gift and he brings that energy to every minute of every day, not because he\u2019s trying, just because that\u2019s the way he is.”<\/p>\n

Working on the film did not change Russell\u2019s outlook on alien life.<\/p>\n

“Gotta be something out there… I don\u2019t know what it is or what it looks like but it\u2019s gotta be there,” he said.<\/p>\n

While Hewson added, “I was not against the idea at all but now I’m all the way in.”<\/p>\n
