It\u2019s understood a loaded weapon and ammunition was discovered at the scene of the fatal crash on the N21 overnight.<\/p>\n

A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene<\/a> of a three-vehicle collision at Templeglantine at around 11 o clock on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed are appealing for information to identify the driver of a vehicle who fled the scene.<\/p>\n

The road between Abbeyfeale and Newcastle West reopened to traffic shortly before 4PM<\/a> this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The deceased man, who was in his 30s, was a passenger in one car, and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n

The driver of this car left the scene on foot and Garda\u00ed are seeking to identify this person.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood a pistol and ammunition were discovered in the vehicle, which is believed to have been travelling in the Kerry direction.<\/p>\n

The driver and passenger of a second vehicle, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s, were both treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the driver of the third car, a woman aged in her 60s, also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene .<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed<\/a> are appealing for witnesses to come forward.<\/p>\n

Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, who were travelling on the N21 from Newcastle West towards Abbeyfeale between 11 and 11:30 last night (Monday, 8 June), should make this footage available to the investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
