The \u201cEverything Tatted\u201d rocker (who previously went by Machine Gun Kelly) opened up about the grueling process behind his massive blackout tattoo<\/a> in a new cover story for Billboard Canada<\/a>. He revealed that he became sick after pushing his body to the limit to complete the extensive body art in just two months.<\/p>\n \u201cThe same way I was reinventing my sound, I wanted to reinvent my body,\u201d MGK, 36, explained.<\/p>\n MGK\u2019s quest to completely transform his appearance has left him seriously ill, the artist (seen above in December 2025) revealed in a new cover story. Getty Images for iHeartRadio<\/p>\n The musician (real name: Colson Baker) said celebrity tattoo artist ROXX designed a massive \u201cdark mode\u201d tattoo that covers most of his arms, chest and stomach<\/a>.<\/p>\n While the project was originally expected to take two years to complete, MGK insisted on finishing it in a fraction of the time. <\/p>\n \u201cShe warned me that it was going to be near impossible, even from a pain tolerance standpoint,\u201d he recalled. \u201cI said, \u2018Yeah, we got two months.’\u201d<\/p>\n Instead of taking breaks to allow his body to heal, MGK spent weeks undergoing daily tattoo sessions at ROXX\u2019s Los Angeles studio.<\/p>\n The musician said celebrity tattoo artist ROXX designed a massive \u201cdark mode\u201d tattoo that covers most of his arms, chest and stomach. I wasn\u2019t able to sleep. I stopped being able to move certain parts of my upper body.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the alarming side effects, the rocker pushed forward, viewing the physically demanding process as a challenge he needed to overcome.<\/p>\n \u201cI came out the other side extremely inspired,\u201d he said. \u201cNot just because of what I had done, but because of what I had to overcome.\u201d<\/p>\n In March, \u201cThe Dirt\u201d actor added another tattoo<\/a> to his collection \u2014 which may be the sweetest one of all.<\/p>\n The tattoo artist warned MGK it would be \u201cnear impossible\u201d to complete in two weeks, but the rapper insisted.
