Gardai in Waterford are appealing for information following a serious assault in the city.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the force said that approximately 7.10pm on Monday, June 8, Garda\u00ed at Waterford were notified of an alleged assault at St John\u2019s River Walk, Tramore Road.<\/p>\n
A male, who had been out for jog on St John\u2019s River Walk, had been removed by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford with serious but non-life threating injuries.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson said the young man was jogging on Monday evening between 6.35pm and 6.55pm when he was approached by two males who were unknown to him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The two males both appeared to be in their late 20\u2019s and were both wearing blue.<\/p>\n
It’s also believed one possibly had brown hair and beard.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Following some questions directed at the jogger by the suspects, they began to assault the victim by kicking and punching him and he sustained multiple lacerations on his hands and arms,” said the Garda.<\/p>\n
It’s believed the incident occurred sometime between 6.35pm and 6.55pm and people would be familiar with the area as it is just opposite the Kingfisher Gym, by the footbridge over St John’s River into Ashley Avenue.<\/p>\n
