Oivia Rodrigo has finally \u2018met\u2019 CMAT, after recently performing a cover of the Irish singer\u2019s When A Good Man Cries in the BBC Live Lounge.<\/p>\n
The Driver’s License singer received a video call from CMAT during a BBC Radio 1 interview with broadcaster Greg James.<\/p>\n
CMAT spoke of her excitement when she heard the word \u2018Dunboyne\u2019 come out of her mouth during the BBC Live Lounge performance.<\/p>\n
The Dublin-born singer, who was raised in Co Meath, in Clonee and Dunboyne, previously went viral for her reaction to Rodrigo belting out the lyric ‘Dunboyne Diana’, joking that the Grammy-winner sang it \u201cbetter\u201d and asking if Olivia fancied going for pints.<\/p>\n
To make their meeting happen, BBC Radio 1 surprised Rodrigo with a video call during which the pair discussed a collaboration that would send fans into a frenzy.<\/p>\n

The station shared a clip on Instagram showing the pair chatting over the phone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so nice to meet you,\u201d Rodrigo said when she saw that it was CMAT on screen.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was listening to the song and it didn\u2019t occur to me until that moment that the word \u2018Dunboyne\u2019 was going to come out of your mouth \u2014 and I literally lost it,\u201d CMAT said.<\/p>\n
Rodrigo revealed that she was relieved she had pronounced the placename correctly, adding that she had since done her research on the Meath town.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow you have to take me,\u201d she told CMAT.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know if you know, but there\u2019s a giant mural of me on the side of the wall going into the village and I think that if I brought you, they would put a mural on the other side,\u201d CMAT said, with Rodrigo agreeing to \u201cpull up\u201d in Dunboyne.<\/p>\n
\u201cSign me up, we\u2019re gonna pull up. We\u2019ll play a show,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
During the same interview, Rodrigo spoke about experiencing heartbreak at such a young age and that only a 17-year-old could have written her Sour album.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking back in hindsight, it\u2019s like what a beautiful thing to feel so much emotion for one person.
