Andy Cohen finally said what we\u2019ve all been thinking and called West Wilson out for being completely emotionless at the Summer House reunion. As the host put it, \u201cNo offense, are you on, like, a bunch of beta blockers or what?\u201d<\/p>\n

West attempted to avoid the question by saying he was \u201ctrying to stay composed as much as possible,\u201d but eventually admitted \u201cI took a beta blocker.\u201d (Side note: per the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, beta blockers \u201clower blood pressure\u201d and \u201cblock the effects of the hormone epinephrine, also known as adrenaline.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Cut to Ciara Miller, who was not about to let West being on beta blockers excuse his behavior.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust a medical note,\u201d she wrote on Threads. \u201cBeta blockers DON\u2019T remove emotion. They work by blocking adrenaline from binding to beta receptors in your heart, blood vessels, and muscles (the receptors responsible for the physical symptoms of anxiety like increased heart rate, raised blood pressure, and trembling). The EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE remains, but the physical stress response can\u2019t fully activate. It\u2019s like putting your \u2018fight or flight\u2019 symptoms on DND\u2026. enough with the beta blocker bullshit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ciara then added, \u201calso anxiety and depression aren\u2019t the only thing in the DSM-5, personality disorders exist there as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
