Rashford is currently preparing for the 2026 World Cup finals with England.<\/p>\n
The Man Utd winger will compete for a place on the left wing with Anthony Gordon, who has joined Barcelona from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n
Former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Gary Lineker believes that Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel will pick Gordon ahead of Rashford for the left wing, but he does not want that.<\/p>\n
Lineker said on\u00a0The Rest Is Football\u00a0on\u00a0Netflix: \u201cWe just mentioned them both, Gordon and Rashford, because that looks like what it\u2019s going to be [for England at the World Cup].<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it depends [on] how he [Tuchel] wants to play. If he wants to play with the press, I think he\u2019ll go with Gordon because he\u2019s very, very good at that.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe statistics [for Gordon] back that up. I think if he goes for the best player, I think Rashford is unbelievably talented.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lineker added: \u201cDo you know what I think he will do?<\/p>\n
\u201cI know this is our team, not Tuchel\u2019s.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Tuchel will start a lot of the time with Gordon because of that kind of energy that he can give and use Marcus more as an impact player.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they will both feature quite a bit. We will see.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lineker concluded: \u201cI have to go Rashford.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he is in form and confident, and he has been really, really good for Barcelona, he has not overplayed, another one as well, but I think Rashford and Gordon will feature quite a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
