Doomed! drops August 14 via Billy Woods\u2019 Backwoodz label. Check out its first single, \u201cUnfinished Concrete Initials\u201d featuring Hemlock Ernst (aka Future Islands\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/artists\/samuel-t-herring\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samuel T. Herring<\/a>), below.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn recent years, Kenny made it very clear that he wasn\u2019t trying to keep having one or two beats on my projects; he wanted to build something,\u201d the Los Angeles-based rapper said in a statement, adding, with customary panache, \u201cEvery one of Kenny\u2019s beats is a chunk of ore from a different comet. I used each one as a canvas to paint my impression of a dead world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth year in a row Open Mike has released an album; his latest, <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/open-mike-eagle-neighborhood-gods-unlimited\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Neighborhood Gods Unlimited<\/a>, premiered last July. Meanwhile, Kenny\u2019s most recent album was 2025\u2019s The Night Green Side of It, a collaboration with R.A.P.
