With 11 Michelin-recognised restaurants, Cork is the culinary capital of Ireland, and the head chef of one of the county’s most elite dining establishments is defending that title with a new series of collaborations with guest cooks from around the globe.<\/p>\n
Nestled away in a restored 18th\u2011century manor house at the swanky 5\u2011star Castlemartyr Resort, Terre is one of only a handful of Irish restaurants to hold not one, but two Michelin stars<\/a>, and now chef Lewis Barker is joining forces with some of the world’s top chefs for their new Friends of Terre events.<\/p>\n For the first of these events, Barker teams up with Michael Wilson, chef of Michelin-starred Marguerite in Singapore, who Barker met when he became the youngest chef to be awarded a Michelin star in Singapore at just 27, on 17th and 18th June.<\/p>\n The pair will be serving a nine-course banquet, showcasing the best each chef has to offer. Since taking over as head chef at Terre in 2025, Barker has been praised by tastemakers for his unique approach to cooking, which is influenced by both classical French techniques and his time living in Asia, while keeping the focus on local ingredients.<\/p>\n His counterpart, Michael Wilson, a Melbourne-born chef, worked in famous Australian kitchens before moving to Shanghai, where he opened Ph\u00e9nix, awarded a Michelin star after just 5 months.<\/p>\n Michael then moved to Singapore, where he opened his newest restaurant, Marguerite, in Singapore\u2019s Flower Dome, the world\u2019s largest glass greenhouse. It was awarded a star after 8 months. He showcases modern Australian cuisine through traditional French cooking techniques.<\/p>\n If you’re a foodie with an adventurous palate, it’s a great opportunity to sample some world-class cooking.
