The idea behind this is to help clear things up for anyone who isn\u2019t sure how today\u2019s groups fit together.<\/p>\n If I\u2019ve missed any red herrings or misunderstood something, let me know via email<\/a> or on Discord<\/a>. I don\u2019t typically look at X or check the comments here. <\/p>\n I\u2019m going to assume that you\u2019ve already beaten today\u2019s game. We\u2019re going straight into spoiler territory here. So, consider this your one and only warning.<\/p>\n Here are today\u2019s NYT Connections answers explained (and any red herrings I spot) for Thursday, June 11:<\/p>\n Play Puzzles & Games on Forbes<\/p>\n Today\u2019s NYT Connections Answers ExplainedConnections \u2013 Yellow Group<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfe8 parts of a workout routine (BALANCE, CARDIO, STRETCHING, WEIGHTS)<\/p>\n These all seem straightforward enough!<\/p>\n Connections \u2013 Green Group<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfe9 things with horns (BRASS BAND, DEVIL, RHINO, VIKING HELMET)<\/p>\n In a BRASS BAND, the horn section might include trumpets, trombones, saxophones, French horns etc.<\/p>\n The DEVIL is often depicted with horns on its head. DEVIL horns are also a common hand gesture used by rock and metal fans:<\/p>\n Two heavy metal fans making devil horns hand gestures in the audience <\/p>\n Redferns<\/p>\n A RHINO is otherwise known as a rhinoceros.<\/p>\n As for a VIKING HELMET? Yup, that often has horns on it:<\/p>\n A Denmark fan wears a Viking helmet with a croissant on one horn for some reason<\/p>\n AFP via Getty ImagesConnections \u2013 Blue Group<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfe6 homophones of SUVs (BRONCHO, FORERUNNER, TROUPER, UCONN)<\/p>\n These refer to:<\/p>\n BRONCHO > (Ford) BroncoFORERUNNER > (Toyota) 4RunnerTROUPER > (Isuzu) TrooperUCONN > (GMC) Yukon<\/p>\n I had to ask a car person I know about these because I am not going to use a chatbot. I have never in my life heard of an Isuzu Trooper, and I don’t think I have heard of a GMC Yukon.<\/p>\n Connections \u2013 Purple Group<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfea payment apps minus a letter (ELLE, PAPAL, STRIP, VENO)<\/p>\n These refer to:<\/p>\n ELLE > ZellePAPAL > PayPalSTRIP > StripeVENO > Venmo<\/p>\n I believe Zelle and Venmo are only available in the United States.<\/p>\n Connections \u2013 Red Herrings <\/p>\n Connections often has some red herrings. Let’s take a look at today’s (assuming I spotted any).<\/p>\n SSPL via Getty Images<\/p>\n I didn\u2019t see any red herrings this time. I don\u2019t know that we really needed one with those blue and purple groups we had today.<\/p>\n Edit: A few folks pointed out to me that BRONCHO, CARDIO, RHINO and VENO are all medical prefixes. They refer to the respiratory system (as I understand it), heart, nose and veins.
