Olivia Rodrigo<\/a>\u00a0revealed in a new interview that she nearly suffered an \u201canxiety attack\u201d before her\u00a0headlining performance<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Glastonbury<\/a>\u00a0in 2025.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0the BBC<\/a>\u00a0ahead of her new album\u00a0You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love\u00a0\u2014 and fresh off\u00a0a surprise set<\/a>\u00a0at this week\u2019s Primavera Sound in Barcelona \u2014 Rodrigo talked about her stress of headlining the U.K.\u2019s most iconic festival prior to taking the stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember having a near-anxiety attack in the bathroom, like, \u2018How am I going to do this? I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m ready,\u2019\u201d Rodrigo said. \u201cBut something overcame me the second I stepped on stage and started singing. I felt totally calm and so in my element. I\u2019m not very spiritual or religious, but it\u2019s moments like that where I feel music is just so magical that you just can\u2019t really describe it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodrigo, who previously performed at on a smaller Glastonbury stage in 2022, added that the headlining performance became \u201cprobably the best weekend\u201d of her life, thanks in part to\u00a0sharing the stage<\/a>\u00a0with the Cure\u2019s Robert Smith; that singer ended up\u00a0becoming a huge influence<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have such a reverence for the festival and the incredible heritage and artists that have played on that stage, so I put so much love and care into that set and spent so much time thinking about it,\u201d Rodrigo said of Glastonbury. \u201cThe fact that it translated it was totally a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

At Primavera Sound, Rodrigo reunited with Smith to\u00a0debut her new album\u2019s \u2018What\u2019s Wrong With Me,\u2019<\/a>\u00a0a duet with the Cure singer. The band\u2019s \u2018Just Like Heaven\u2019 was also name-checked on the opening single \u2018Drop Dead<\/a>,\u2019 and a second single was titled \u2018The Cure<\/a>.\u2019\u00a0You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love\u00a0arrives Friday.<\/p>\n
