For the special occasion, Swift stepped out in a black strapless gown embellished with multi-colored floral embroidery\u2014made custom by Givenchy. The piece featured a high leg slit and a gathered waist, and she paired it with black heels. Her updo showed off her sparkling Mindi Mond earrings.<\/p>\n

The honor felt particularly meaningful, as this month will mark the 20th anniversary of the release of Swift\u2019s debut single, \u201cTim McGraw.\u201d Later this year, her debut self-titled album will turn twenty as well, and in the lead up, the star has been celebrating with little Easter eggs here and there. (Just days ago, she wore a patchwork Erdem dress from the house\u2019s Fall 2026 collection, which celebrated its own 20th anniversary.)<\/p>\n
This evening, Swift also becomes the first artist to be inducted after receiving the organization\u2019s Hal David Starlight Award (which she was awarded in 2010).<\/p>\n

Previous Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees have included everyone from Paul McCartney and John Lennon to Bruce Springsteen and Carole King to Dolly Parton and Elton John. Multiple of Swift\u2019s own collaborators have also been honored, including Max Martin and Liz Rose.
