Throughout much of the spring of 2026, Michael Jackson’s<\/a> “Billie Jean” has ranked as not only one of his biggest hits, or even one of the most successful R&B tunes in America, but one of the most-consumed songs, period. The decades-old smash has reached new heights and conquered various tallies since Jackson’s semi-self-titled biopic Michael became a box office smash. <\/p>\n There is one roster, however, where “Billie Jean” has yet to dominate, though it has come frustratingly close to doing so during multiple weeks. Once again, “Billie Jean” is denied the summit on a sales ranking once more as one champion backtracks and another blocks the King of Pop from a new ruler.<\/p>\n “Billie Jean” Misses No. 1 Again<\/p>\n On this week’s R&B\/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart<\/a>, which ranks the top-selling tracks classified by Billboard as hip-hop, R&B or rap, “Billie Jean”<\/a> climbs from No. 4 to No. 2. The Thriller single originally reached second place \u2013 which continues to stand as its all-time high \u2013 less than a month ago, on the chart dated May 23. Since then, several bestsellers have stood in the way of the beloved powerhouse doubling his total number of winners.<\/p>\n Bruno Mars Blocks “Billie Jean” From Finally Hitting No. 1<\/p>\n This time around, Bruno Mars returns to the throne with “I Just Might,” the lead single from his recently released album The Romantic. “I Just Might” debuted at No. 1 on the R&B\/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart in January, and since then has spent an incredible 12 frames as the bestselling track in any of those styles on platforms such as iTunes throughout America.<\/p>\n Rob Base and Drake Recently Sat at No. 1<\/p>\n Last week, Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock sent their decades-old favorite “It Takes Two” to No. 1. The single exploded in popularity following Base\u2019s passing, years after DJ EZ Rock\u2019s death. The frame prior, Drake earned another champion with “Janice STFU.” That single, taken from his album Iceman \u2013 one of three full-lengths he delivered less than a month ago \u2013 opened in the highest rung on the R&B\/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales tally, becoming his twenty-eighth leader at the same time that it also conquered the Billboard Hot 100. <\/p>\n
