A party of diners accused of walking out on a restaurant without settling<\/a> a \u00a3347 bill may have inadvertently made themselves simpler to identify after one incredibly left a scathing review. The group of 17 allegedly departed Mar d’Amura restaurant in Valencia, Spain, without paying a \u20ac402.80 (\u00a3347.50) bill.<\/p>\n One member of the party criticised the service, the food <\/a>and the establishment, declaring it was a “terrible place, with terrible food and terrible service. One of the worst places I’ve ever been.”<\/p>\n However, Mar d’Amura claims the group<\/a> departed “one by one”, seemingly to prevent attracting the notice of waiting <\/a>staff. Hospitality-focused X account @soycamarero highlighted the incident.<\/p>\n It prompted a surge of criticism, with users branding the dine-and-dashers “shameless” and “scoundrels”. Mar d’Amura’s management spotted the review and replied.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n The proprietor<\/a> thanked the diner for their comments, saying it gave them the “opportunity to respond publicly”, before explaining what they said happened. He wrote: “First of all, you left without paying the bill, 17 people, one by one, you disappeared”.<\/p>\n He also claimed the customers ordered desserts<\/a>, only to reject them once they were served. The owner alleged one diner ate an entire ribeye steak meal, then said it “wasn\u2019t good” and tried to bargain over the price.<\/p>\n He continued: “Thirdly, one of you came to pay, but didn’t want to pay for the entrecote because it wasn’t good. But you didn’t leave anything on the dish, so we charged you. Then he decided not to pay anything.”<\/p>\n The owner noted that the bill “exceeds \u20ac350” and that it was “no longer petty theft, it’s theft”. He also said: “We want to remind everyone that we have security cameras and that we will be filing a police report, as well as sharing it on social media.”<\/p>\n Social media users shared their own views on the situation, with one asking: “How on earth do 17 people leave and you don\u2019t notice?
