Derry City produced their best performance of the season in what was their final game at the Find Insurance Celtic Park, as they demolished title chasing Bohemians.<\/p>\n
Trailing to Harry Vaughan’s goal, the Brandywell men stormed back as James Clarke netted a brace, Conor Barr fired home his first goal for the club and Kevin Dos Santos also netted, as Derry scored three in eight minutes after the break.<\/p>\n
Former Bohs man James Clarke stole the show, as the Meath man netted a brace and also had a hand in City’s second goal, but it was his overall performance, which was impressive and the only downside for him was the fact that he missed a great chance to complete a hat-trick from the penalty spot.<\/p>\n
The victory, which was well deserved, was Derry’s first win in eight matches and certainly eased the pressure on manager Tiernan Lynch.<\/p>\n
The visitors went close to breaking the deadlock after just two minutes as Dayle Rooney’s left wing free-kick found Cian Byrne at the back post, his header into the six yard box found Patrick Hickey and he effort, which had Eddie Beach beaten, came back off the bar.<\/p>\n
Moments later Derry should have taken the lead as Clarke’s run and cross from the right found Michael Duffy at the back post, but the City skipper’s close range tame shot was saved by Paul Walters.<\/p>\n
Bohs had strong claims for a penalty minutes later as Barry Cotter’s late challenge on Dawson Devoy inside the box, but referee Rob Hennessy awarded a corner.<\/p>\n
The deadlock was broken on 17 minutes as a lovely passing move ended with Harry Vaughan playing a neat one two with Ross Tierney, before the former Hull man, who was afforded a host of space, fired high into Beach’s top right hand corner from 25 yards out.<\/p>\n

Derry equalised on 24 minutes after a defensive mistake by Sadou Diallo as the former City midfielder passed the ball to Kevin Dos Santos, he looked up and picked out Clarke inside the box, he showed good composure before firing home past Walters.<\/p>\n
On 34 minutes Clarke raced clear down the right before getting away from Hickey, but his cut-back found Duffy at the near post, but his close range effort was diverted wide by a last ditch tackle by Darragh Power. Derry made a change at the break with James Olayinka replacing Cotter, meaning that Cameron Dummigan slotted into centre-back and Conor Barr moved across into right-back.<\/p>\n
The home side took the lead with a wonder strike on 55 minutes as Barr’s powerful long range effort fizzed past Walters, to score his first goal for his home town club.<\/p>\n
Derry increased their lead on 61 minutes as Adam O’Reilly found Clarke on the edge of the box, the midfielder’s curling shot came back off the post and credit to him, as he picked up the loose ball and turned it home from close range.<\/p>\n
The home side incredibly netted their fourth goal as Olayinka showed great desire to break through from midfield before feeding Duffy down the left and his cross picked out an unmarked Dos Santos at the back post and he gleefully side footed home from close range.<\/p>\n
Clarke missed a golden chance to complete his hat-trick on 80 minutes as referee Rob Hennessy pointed to the spot after Brandon Fleming was brought down inside the box by Zane Myers.<\/p>\n
To his credit Duffy gave the midfielder the ball but his spot-kick was well kept out by Walters, who dived low to his right to push the ball away.<\/p>\n
