Tencent Holdings<\/a> is aiming for \u201caggressive\u201d growth in the international cloud computing market, on the back of the growing appetite overseas for Chinese artificial intelligence<\/a> (AI) models, according to a senior executive.That sharpened focus by Tencent stems from how its overseas cloud operations have been expanding \u201cthe fastest among all [its business] segments\u201d, with \u201chigh double-digit growth over the past few years\u201d, said senior executive vice-president Dowson Tong Tao-sang, who serves as CEO of the Shenzhen<\/a>-based firm\u2019s Cloud and Smart Industries Group (CSIG), in an interview with the Post on Thursday.<\/p>\n

AI was a major driver for that growth, according to Tong. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of opportunities\u201d to bring Chinese open-source AI models to overseas clients, he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of these AI-powered apps<\/a> are growing very fast, so we definitely have very aggressive growth targets and we have been on track.\u201d<\/p>\n
