The ‘kind and warm” Galway mum sadly passed away just days before she was due to celebrate her 39th birthday as well as her fifth wedding anniversary\"Shorrell<\/p>\n

Communities in both Ireland and the UK have been plunged into mourning following the death of a “wonderful, kind and warm” young mum from Co Galway<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shorrell ‘Shellie’ Keary, who was from Ballybrit but had been living in Bristol, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her adoring family, last Sunday, June 7, in the care of St. Peter’s Hospice, Bristol, at the age of 38.<\/p>\n

Tragically, Shellie passed away four days before she was due to celebrate her 39th birthday, while her tragic death also occurred a few days before her fifth wedding anniversary to husband David.<\/p>\n

A death notice shared on RIP.ie said Shellie will be “sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken family; her devoted husband David Bailey, her beloved daughter Brianna, her cherished son Bray, and her loving mother Martina.<\/p>\n

“Deeply mourned also by her sisters Zoe, Erin and Leonda, her brother David, her grandmothers, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, and her many dear friends in both Galway and Bristol.<\/p>\n

“Shellie’s family would like to sincerely thank all those who cared for her with such kindness and compassion.”<\/p>\n

The sad passing of the Galway mum has left her friends and family heartbroken, with her brother David paying an emotional tribute to the popular young woman in a message shared online.<\/p>\n

“Rest in perfect peace my beautiful sister Shorell. My heart in broken in a million pieces Shorell we all love you with all our broken hearts. Our father Frankie has you now,” he said.<\/p>\n

David shared another message on Thursday on what would have been Shellie’s 39th birthday. “I never thought id be wishing you a happy heavenly 39th birthday sister,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I hope your happy up there with all our loved ones. I miss and love you will all my heart sister.”<\/p>\n

Shellie’s sister-in-law Theresa also paid tribute to the young mum. “Rest In Peace my beautiful sister in law Shorell. You are out of all your pain and suffering now and at Peace,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Life is so unfair. It’s your birthday and planning your funeral.”<\/p>\n

“I hope your happy up there. Rest In Peace Shorrell.”<\/p>\n

A number of mourners shared their own tributes to Shellie, with one person saying: “May your beautiful soul rest in piece Shellie, you were just a wonderful human being. My deepest and upmost condolences, love and sympathy to All the family. I for one will never forget you. Sleep well and know how much you were loved by all.”<\/p>\n

While another person added: “To the Keary\/ Bailey family, I am so sorry for your loss. Shellie was a wonderful, kind, warm person who always had a smile and made me feel so welcome in her home. I am thinking of you all at this time and am here if you need anything. Please may God watch over Brianna, Bray, David and family and support them always. Sending lots of love to you all, I love you.”<\/p>\n

Shellie will lie in repose at Conneely’s Funeral Home, Flood Street, Galway (H91 A786), on Sunday, 14th June, from 4pm to 6pm, with removal afterwards to her grandmother’s home.<\/p>\n

Shellie will arrive at St. Patrick’s Church on Monday, in advance of Requiem Mass at 11am. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest in Lackagh New Cemetery.<\/p>\n
