After more than six decades, The Rolling Stones still aren\u2019t slowing down.<\/p>\n
On July 10, the rock and roll band is set to release their 25th studio album, \u201cForeign Tongues.\u201d <\/p>\n
Rolling Stones frontman and legendary rocker Mick Jagger chatted with Willie Geist for the June 14 edition of Sunday Sitdown about plans for the upcoming album, including a potential tour.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, I\u2019d love to. I really want to. And, I\u2019m ready to go,\u201d Jagger, 82, told Willie when asked if they\u2019ll head back on the road.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think we\u2019re gonna do shows this year, but hopefully we\u2019ll do shows next year,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Stones last went on tour in the summer of 2024 to perform their most recent album, \u201cHackney Diamonds,\u201d released in October 2023. <\/p>\n
This next album has \u201ca lot of styles in it,\u201d Jagger says. For the Stones, that was intentional: \u201cYou hope that every track has got something for everyone. That\u2019s why you\u2019ve got, you know, 14 tracks.\u201d <\/p>\n
While four of the tracks were recorded during studio sessions for earlier albums, the 10 tracks made just for \u201cForeign Tongues\u201d were written and recorded in the span of just four weeks, Jagger said. <\/p>\n
Back in earlier years, it used to take months for the rockers to generate an album they were happy with, the rocker said. Now that the bandmates all write more on their own, they can come together and make music more quickly.<\/p>\n
But even being over six decades into a career that helped define rock and roll, Jagger told Willie he still feels nervous for this new release. <\/p>\n
