We’ve already uncovered several key changes, and now another standout addition has surfaced: Family Device Sharing. This feature is designed to make the Galaxy ecosystem more collaborative, giving families a seamless way to connect and share across multiple devices.

Samsung prepares Family Device Sharing for Galaxy phones with One UI 8.5

Family Device Sharing allows Galaxy users to connect and share files, screens, cameras, storage, and more with their family. Instead of setting up individual connections, families could form a permanent group where devices automatically recognize and share with one another.

This feature can be helpful in sharing photos and videos instantly from one family member’s device to another. Members can also collaborate on storage access without the need for third-party cloud apps or use device cameras or screens remotely, such as monitoring a child’s tablet or streaming media across the household. It brings families together into a more cohesive experience.

Family Device Sharing will be accessible via existing menus in Quick Share, Camera Share, and Storage Share within system settings. Your Samsung account ID, email, name, device list, and Bluetooth information will be shared across all devices in a trusted family group. Samsung is positioning Family Device Sharing as a natural extension of its ecosystem strategy.

The feature doesn’t currently function in the initial leaked build of One UI 8.5, so we couldn’t test it. However, Samsung must be actively working on these tools ahead of the Galaxy S26 launch. Subsequent leaks could bring a functional Family Device Sharing tool. With the Galaxy S26 series set to debut in early 2026, the official launch isn’t too far away either.
