Metallica are urging Irish fans north and south to help save lives ahead of their massive Dublin<\/a> shows later this month.<\/p>\n The heavy metal legends return to the capital for two nights at the Aviva Stadium<\/a> on Friday, June 19 and Sunday, June 21 as part of their No Repeat Weekend. The veteran rockers will perform two unique shows as part of their record-breaking M72 World Tour, which is now in its fourth year.<\/p>\n The band and its foundation, All Within My Hands, are asking fans and the general public to give blood during the week of the tour stops. The initiative is part of a new collaboration between Metallica and the Irish and Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Services.<\/p>\n Sharon Ryan, Director of Donor Experience and Collections with the IBTS, said donors of all types are needed. She added: \u201cIt\u2019s a fantastic and unique way for us to get the message to people about how important it is to give blood.<\/p>\n “Summer can be a challenging time to meet the increasing blood needs of hospitals, and we hope this collaboration with Metallica fans increases everybody\u2019s blood flows.”<\/p>\n Donating blood is easy, taking about an hour and a half for your first donation. Each donation has the potential to save up to three lives.
