Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker has revealed plans for the show to explore Manpreet Sharma and Ross Barton’s unexpected connection again.<\/p>\n

The two characters had a brief fling last year<\/a>, which ultimately led to Ross missing out on another chance with on-off girlfriend Steph Miligan<\/a> after he lied about what had happened.<\/p>\n

Since then, Ross has pursued a casual relationship with Laurel Thomas<\/a>, who also recently cut ties with him.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap<\/a> about Ross and Manpreet’s history, Rebecca laughed: “Do you know what? I think they both get what they want from their situationship, you know? It’s a bit of fun and a bit of company, so why not? <\/p>\n

“They’re two single consenting adults. I just don\u2019t think they really need to explain themselves because they’re free to do what they want, aren’t they? It’s just a little bit of fun. I quite like the fact that it could be revisited every so often.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “It’s quite a cheeky and flirtatious relationship. It’s all very transparent with no strings attached, which I think is quite fun, really. It’s quite unusual for a woman to be free like that, but why not?<\/p>\n

“There is going to be another dalliance with Ross, but one of them has an agenda!”<\/p>\n

Rebecca went on to praise Michael Parr, who reprised his role as Ross in 2024 after six years away from the show.<\/p>\n

She enthused: “Mike is great to act with and we get on very well, so I’m very happy with that. Mike left Emmerdale when I joined \u2013 we just missed each other, so when he came back, I didn’t know him at all.<\/p>\n

“But he’s very easy to get on with and he’s very good creatively. We both like to play around with the scenes a little bit and try different things. It’s always fun, it’s always novel, it’s never the same. So I think in that respect, we’re quite compatible.”<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
