\n\tAnya Taylor\u2011Joy is the latest big name to join the next Lord of the Rings movie, The Hunt for Gollum.<\/p>\n
\n\tLord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum\u00a0will be directed by Andy Serkis, who is reprising the role of Gollum. <\/p>\n
\n\tThe Hunt for Gollum\u00a0takes place between\u00a0The Hobbit\u00a0trilogy and\u00a0The Lord of the Rings\u00a0trilogy, with Aragorn and Gandalf searching for Gollum to learn more information about Bilbo\u2019s ring, the One Ring that threatens all of Middle-earth.<\/p>\n
\n\tFor the film, Ian McKellen will return as Gandalf, alongside Elijah Wood as Frodo, and Lee Pace as Thranduil. Taylor\u2011Joy joins an ensemble of new cast members for the franchise, including Kate Winslet as Marigol, Jamie Dornan as Strider and Leo Woodall as Halvard.<\/p>\n
\n\tTaylor-Joy is set to play Seren, a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm and a trusted, lethal agent of King Thranduil (Pace).\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tPeter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Zane Weiner are producing. Ken Kamins, Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish of The Imaginarium are executive producing. Walsh and Boyens penned the screenplay, with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Hunt for Gollum\u00a0is set to hit theaters on Dec. 17, 2027 via Warner Bros. and New Line.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tTaylor\u2011Joy, repped by CAA, The Way Management and Felker Toczek, will next be seen in Apple TV+\u2019s Lucky and, after that, Denis Villeneuve\u2019s Dune: Part Three.<\/p>\n
