ITV has shared an exciting update about the fourth season<\/a> of Trigger Point, Vicky McClure’s returning police procedural. The channel is set to air a brand-new trailer for the upcoming series during this summer’s FIFA World Cup games. <\/p>\n

Set to return to ITV later this year for another chapter, the British drama<\/a> sees McClure play Lana Washington, a fearless yet troubled character who leads a police bomb-disposal team in London. <\/p>\n

The teaser will include “an eye-opening and action-packed 20-second glimpse of what Lana and the team of bomb disposal officers – known as EXPOs – are facing this time as they continue their quest to keep the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats”. <\/p>\n

In addition to McClure, the cast for the fourth season sees Eric Shango, Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson and Maanuv Thiara reprise their respective roles, while Julie Graham and Jonas Armstrong will have guest parts.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the series, for which she also produces, McClure said: “I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point.”<\/p>\n

Comprised of six episodes, the new season is written by Chris Brandon, and will be directed by Jennie Darnell and Nirpal Bhogal. It comes hot off the heels of the first three chapters, which have been streamed 91 million times across ITV and ITVX<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The police procedural has also proved popular among critics, with The Observer<\/a> writing of the second season: “Trigger Point will doubtless go on to be equal parts engrossing and absurd, but something (or someone) will keep us watching.”<\/p>\n

“Trigger Point really is a load of nonsense, but it sucks you in anyway, even if everyone talks like a textbook,” opined The Guardian<\/a>, while The Independent<\/a> wrote that it “manages to blow away the competition”.<\/p>\n

Vogue<\/a> was also full of praise, writing: “So let me recommend UK’s wonderfully silly, ruthlessly tense bomb-squad police drama Trigger Point, which… will not tax your brain, nor release you from its grip.”<\/p>\n
