Emmerdale<\/a> star Danny Miller has opened up on how stopping drinking alcohol has changed his life as he celebrated his one-year sobriety anniversary<\/a>. The Aaron Dingle star has looked back on a recent holiday with his wife Steph and their two children, reflecting on how he was able to enjoy his getaway more.<\/p>\n

After recently addressing his image transformation<\/a>, the actor has weighed in on parenthood and how his sobriety has changed his perspective on family holidays on the You Don’t Know You’re Born<\/a> podcast. <\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Miller has revealed he would hit the gym every day while on holiday. Being up early also gave him a different perspective on how he used to act during previous trips with his family. <\/p>\n

“I was walking round seeing people from 10am to 1pm looking really fed up, and I thought, ‘That was me’,” the soap star said.<\/p>\n

“It was a different holiday,” he continued, adding that he would drink 0% alcohol beer “that kinda tastes like beer” and strike up a friendship with “a really nice couple” who live close to him and Steph in North Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

Addressing his relationship with his children, Miller named “the most rewarding part” of being a dad as something he’s only started experiencing “in the last couple of months”.<\/p>\n

The actor said that “a real tight hug from them” when he returns home after a day on set is what makes the lack of sleep worth it and added that “the drink side of things” might’ve played a part in him noticing these little gestures.<\/p>\n

“They’ve recently become quite affectionate,” he added about his kids.
<\/p>\n

Miller and his wife share three children, Albert, born in 2021, Edith, born in 2023, and Vincent, born last July.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
