{"id":504393,"date":"2026-06-17T13:33:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T13:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/504393\/"},"modified":"2026-06-17T13:33:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T13:33:09","slug":"man-33-charged-with-murder-of-woman-in-co-waterford-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/504393\/","title":{"rendered":"Man (33) charged with murder of woman in Co Waterford \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A 33-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of an elderly woman at her home in west Waterford.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Finnegan \u2018Finn\u2019 Yowell with an address of Old School School House, in Ticknock, Kinsalebeg, Co Waterford was charged with the murder of Noreen Daly (81) on Sunday, June 14th. . <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">She was was found dead in her home in Ardsallagh, Co Waterford, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Yowell, who was arrested on Tuesday morning and held in custody, appeared before Judge John O\u2019Leary in Carrick-on-Suir District Court. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Det Garda Stephen Condon gave evidence of arrest and caution. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">He said Yowell made no reply to charge after caution.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Noreen Daly whose body was discovered in her home in Ardsallagh near Youghal, Co Cork. Photograph: Provision <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Sgt Tom O\u2019Brien applied for a remand in custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Defence solicitor Ken Cunningham requested that his client be medically and psychiatrically assessed on committal to prison.
