Royal Ascot is here, and the British royal family\u2014particularly Princess Anne\u2019s branch of the family\u2014showed out in full force for the first day of the horse racing event in Berkshire.<\/p>\n

The Princess Royal, notably, wore a multicolor striped dress\u2014featuring mint green, purple, orange, bright blue, and a plethora of other hues\u2014for the event, pairing it with a mint green hat with red feathers and blue gloves. She accessorized with a pearl necklace, pearl drop earrings, and a gold horse brooch pinned to her top above her name tag. (Yes, even royals have to wear name tags to Ascot<\/a>.) The horse brooch is a staple of her wardrobe; she frequently wears it to equestrian events.<\/p>\n

Princess Anne rode in the carriage procession alongside her son, Peter Phillips, and his new wife, Harriet Sperling<\/a>. They were joined by Ben Elliot, Queen Camilla\u2019s nephew<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After the procession, the royals watched the races: Princess Anne was pictured with Charles Wellesley, 9th Duke of Wellington, a friend of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Her daughter, Zara Tindall, was also at Ascot today<\/a>, though she and husband Mike Tindall did not ride in the procession.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a very busy few days for Princess Anne and the rest of the royals: They were in Windsor yesterday for Garter Day<\/a> celebrating the Order of the Garter, and on Saturday, they participated in Trooping the Colour parade to mark King Charles\u2019s birthday. At Trooping, the Princess Royal rode in horseback in the parade<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Princess Anne typically attends multiple days of Royal Ascot, so it\u2019s likely we\u2019ll see her again this week at the event.<\/p>\n
