Four years after its first launch, The Light in the Hall is back on Channel 4<\/a> with a brand new mystery, a fresh cast of characters and plenty of familiar faces for eagle-eyed viewers to spot. <\/p>\n

The Welsh crime drama, created by Regina Moriarty, returns with a second season that shifts focus away from the story that captivated audiences during its debut run. Originally airing on S4C as Y Golau before making the jump to Channel 4, the series blends small-town secrets with emotionally-charged investigations. <\/p>\n

While the first season<\/a> featured the likes of Alexandra Roach, Joanna Scanlan and Iwan Rheon, the latest chapter places journalist Caryl Huws at the centre of the action. Returning to the role is Si\u00e2n Reese-Williams, a face many viewers may immediately recognise. <\/p>\n

This time around, the story centres on the death of activist Llyr Owen in a bombing in 1995. With his cousin Rhys convicted of the crime, the case appears to be closed. But when Rhys returns home three decades later after serving his sentence, old wounds are reopened and questions begin to resurface.<\/p>\n

As divisions emerge within the community, Caryl begins investigating the circumstances around Llyr’s death. Her search for answers uncovers a tangled web of secrets, conflicting interests and personal betrayals.<\/p>\n

For soap fans, Si\u00e2n remains best known for playing Gennie Walker in Emmerdale, where she spent five years before her character’s dramatic death in 2013. Since leaving the ITV soap<\/a>, she has appeared in a wide range of dramas, including Requiem and Hidden, becoming one of Wales’ most recognisable TV stars. <\/p>\n

Playing the mysterious Rhys is veteran actor Mark Lewis Jones<\/a>, whose face will be familiar to fans of both British TV and blockbuster cinema. His extensive TV credits include Casualty, Holby City, Torchwood, Outlander and Chernobyl. Film fans may also recognise him from appearances in Troy, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Lighthouse and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. <\/p>\n

Another familiar face is Nia Roberts, who plays university lecturer Eve Davies. While Roberts is well-known to Welsh audiences through productions including Hidden, English-speaking viewers may recognise her from appearances in Doctor Who, Doctors and The Crown.

Joining her is Robert Glenister as Robert Davies, Eve’s father and the driving force behind controversial reservoir expansion plans. The actor boasts one of the most impressive CVs<\/a> in the cast, having appeared in everything from Only Fools and Horses and A Touch of Frost to Midsomer Murders and Agatha Christie’s Marple. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Tom Rhys Harries<\/a> takes on the role of an activist opposed to the reservoir project. He is perhaps best known internationally for starring in Suspicion<\/a>, though viewers may also recognise him from Unforgotten, White Lines and Midsomer Murders. <\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the supporting cast is packed with familiar faces. Wyn Bowen Harries, previously appeared in Coronation Street, while Maeve Courtier-Lilley has featured in Gran Turismo, Silent Witness and Harlan Coben’s Run Away<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The cast is rounded out by Mali Tudno Jones, Matthew Gravelle and Gillian Elisa. Matthew is known for his roles in Broadchurch, Casualty and Torchwood, while Gillian may be recognised from appearances in Gavin & Stacey, Sherlock and Hidden. <\/p>\n

With a mystery spanning three decades, a fresh cast of suspects and a collection of familiar faces from some of Britain’s biggest dramas, The Light in the Hall: Still Waters is set to give viewers another compelling trip – but who will stand out? <\/p>\n
