According to his studio, Lorcan had passed away from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. <\/p>\n<p>Dermot was among the first to pay tribute to him and reminisced about their time spent together in the US.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SnapInsta-Ai_3921589202367600340.jpg\" alt=\"Pic: Dermot Bannon\/Instagram\" class=\"wp-image-2157214\"  \/>Dermot Bannon with Lorcan O&#8217;Herlihy Pic: Dermot Bannon\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>He wrote that he was: &#8216;So saddened to hear that architect Lorcan O&#8217;Herlihy had died.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I had the real privilege to spend time with him on and off camera when we filmed in Jai House in Los Angeles, a home he designed for @richroll and @srimati. <\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He was an incredibly talented architect, warm, kind, generous, and thoughtful. I am thankful that I got to spend time with him.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Dermot2.jpg\" alt=\"Lorcan O'Herlihy. Pic: Dermot Bannon Instagram <\/p>\n<p>He believed that the purpose of architecture was to strengthen our cities and their communities, publishing a book, &#8220;I believe Architecture is a Social Act.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Gone too soon, Rest in peace, Lorcan.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>His contemporaries in the industry shared their condolences for Lorcan, with one person writing: &#8216;We are all in shock. Lorcan was the real deal in every sense- an exceptional architect, teacher, leader, and human being.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Lorcan had worked with some of the best in the business. In New York, he was a part of the Steven Holl Architects and IM Pei and Partners.
