Gardai have seized this gun and ammo from gangsters who are at war with the caged Hennessy torture mob in West Dublin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Officers from the Blanchardstown Crime Task Force and Blanchardstown District Detective Unit discovered a 9mm handgun, ammunition and silencer after searching a property connected to the young gang in the Mulhuddart area on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Two young associates – one a young man and the other a juvenile teen, were arrested after the gun, which had the word ‘GOAT’ stuck onto it, was seized.<\/p>\n

Sources say the operation was targeting a gang which has been vying for territory against the Hennessy mob – many of whom’s key members are currently behind bars.<\/p>\n

The teens are understood to be young associates of a dangerous criminal who gardai believe was involved in the shooting incident at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown in December of 2023.<\/p>\n

The young thug, a former associate of Finglas crime boss Glen Ward (AKA ‘Mr Flashy’), is believed to have been the second gunman involved in the incident that saw shooter Tristan Sherry brutally murdered after he fired ultimately fatal shots at Mr Hennessy Sr in the crowded restaurant on Christmas<\/a> Eve.<\/p>\n

Now gardai believe the young man’s associates are fighting for territory against the Hennessy gang – and trying to exploit the fact that many of its key members are currently in prison.<\/p>\n

Violent brothers Jason (27), Devon (28) and Brandon (21) were each jailed for their roles in the horrific attack against associate Barru Moore at their headquarters in Sheephill Avenue in Corduff on February 12 last year.<\/p>\n

Father and son Kenneth (44) and Dean Fitzsimons (24) were also jailed for their roles in the attack which saw Moore branded with the word ‘rat’ via a cattle iron – and at one stage threatened with rape.<\/p>\n

Now sources say a gang is involved in an active dispute with the Hennessy mob, and is attempting to intimidate them while they are powerless behind bars.<\/p>\n

Sources say there are now fears that criminals will attempt to fill the vacuum left by the Hennessy crew, who wrought fear and havoc in the area over the last decade.<\/p>\n

On February 12 last year Barry Moore, an associate of the Hennessy gang, had been lured to their headquarters at Sheephill Avenue in Dublin, as the increasingly paranoid drug gang believed he was an informant. Moore was tortured over several hours – with the word “rat” branded on his belly with a cattle iron-and was also threatened with rape. But the gang didn’t count on Moore, who was severely injured, initially speaking to the gardai.<\/p>\n

Moore, who had been left seriously injured from the horrific ordeal, ultimately refused to give evidence, and four of the men were ultimately able to plead to a lesser charge of assault causing harm, as opposed to false imprisonment and assault causing serious harm. Had that trial gone on and they were found guilty, four of the five criminals could have faced life in prison. Devon Hennessy, meanwhile, pleaded guilty at an earlier juncture, ultimately securing himself the lesser sentence of just three years.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless the apprehension of the men for this gruesome and unimaginable attack has brought about an abrupt end for the mob, which had ruled the Corduff drugs scene with fear and force for several years.<\/p>\n

Gang leader Jason Hennessy Jr (29), received eight and a half years in prison for his role in the brutal attack on Moore.<\/p>\n

In a press release about this week’s seizure gardai said:<\/p>\n

“Garda\u00ed have seized a firearm and ammunition following a search under warrant of a location in the Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 area yesterday, Tuesday 16th June 2026.<\/p>\n

“The operation, conducted by members of the Blanchardstown Crime Task Force and Blanchardstown District Detective Unit, is part of ongoing investigations targeting the activities of organised crime groups in the area.<\/p>\n

“During the course of the search, a 9mm handgun, ammunition and silencer were seized.<\/p>\n

“Two males (a juvenile and a young adult) were arrested in connection with the investigation, and are currently detained at a Garda<\/a> station in the West Dublin area under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.<\/p>\n

“The firearm seized is now subject to technical analysis. Investigations are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
