Cork city’s much-loved Izz Caf\u00e9 is a very popular spot, usually for its amazing menu – but this week a passer-by took a particular fancy to one of their outdoor dining chairs.<\/p>\n
The team at Izz, recently named as one of Ireland’s very best food spots<\/a>, shared a snap from CCTV of somebody making off with the chair outside the restaurant on George’s Quay. However, despite the loss, there are no hard feelings – the caf\u00e9 would just like its furniture back.<\/p>\n Posting the image on social media, Izz Caf\u00e9 said: “If the person who took out chair could return it, we would be very appreciative.”<\/p>\n In a follow-up post, they added: “It would be much easier than contacting the Garda\u00ed.”<\/p>\n Cork city is no stranger to honest punters returning items they’ve nabbed. Last year, the “most honest customer ever” returned a pint glass to the Franciscan Well bar – five years after stealing it<\/a> on a night out. And that’s not all – the stolen glass was sent back to the Leeside pub all the way from France.<\/p>\n On that occasion, the confessional glass thief, Cl\u00e9ment, was rewarded with a hamper<\/a> for her honesty.<\/p>\n It seems unlikely that Izz Caf\u00e9’s chair has gone much further than the city centre – but wherever it is, the award-winning foodie spot just wants it back.<\/p>\n Over the years, the Izz Caf\u00e9 team have scooped numerous awards including the title of ‘Best Middle Eastern in Ireland’<\/a>, a global cuisines award<\/a> and making The Sunday Times’s list of the Best 100 Restaurants in Ireland. And that’s not even mentioning all the celebrity approval they’ve earned, like from Kneecap<\/a> or famous Irish actor Robert Sheehan.<\/a><\/p>\n
