The necessary authorisations for his entry into \u2060Canadian territory have now been obtained,\u201d said a statement from the official X account of the \u200cIvorian \u200cFootball \u200bFederation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Canadian immigration officials did not immediately respond to an email query by Reuters. Wahi was linked to an investigation into suspected sports corruption, with French authorities \u2060saying unusual betting patterns were detected around \u200ba yellow card Wahi received in a Ligue 1 \u200bmatch while playing for Nice last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Wahi, who was not immediately available to comment, was not named \u200cas a suspect. A spokesperson for the \u200bMarseille prosecutor\u2019s office told Reuters a 23-year-old Ligue 1 player was taken into custody on May \u206029th as part of an investigation into \u2060suspected organised fraud, organised \u200bsports corruption, handling stolen goods and money laundering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The FIF said it had full confidence in Wahi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cTo date, the FIF has not been officially notified of any legal or administrative proceedings concerning him,\u201d the FIF said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cDuring this particularly difficult period, the FIF offers its full support to the player and reaffirms its confidence in him.
