Pic: PATRICIA DE MELO MOREIRA \/ AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>But while Ireland has seemed to avoid the brunt of the dangerous heat, Met \u00c9ireann has forecast that we\u2019re in for some warmer and drier conditions this weekend and into next week.<\/p>\n<p>Looking to the weather for Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/extra.ie\/tag\/met-eireann\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Met \u00c9ireann<\/a> warned that things will start off wet with spot flooding, before the rain turns lighter through the morning and gradually clears eastwards \u2014 although it might linger a little in the east. Highest temperatures of 16C to 21C.<\/p>\n<p>There will be outbreaks of showery rain, heavy at times, on Friday night, before they gradually clear northeastwards as drier and clearer conditions follow from the west. Lowest temperatures of 7C to 12C.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/July-Weather-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1662321\"  \/>Ireland will see the tail end of the heatwave,, with highest temperatures set to soar to the low to mid 20s this weekend. Pic: Tom Honan<\/p>\n<p>Saturday is set to be dry for most of the country, with a mix of cloudy and sunny spells and a few showers in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 15C to 20C. It will be dry overnight with long clear spells, and lowest temperatures of 7C to 12C as fog patches develop.<\/p>\n<p>Things look like they\u2019ll heat up on Sunday, with conditions set to be cloudy with some hazy sunshine before clouds potentially develop in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 19C to 23C.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday night will be cloudier at times in the north and west, with a chance of a little drizzle. Highest temperatures of 20C to 25C.<\/p>\n<p>Looking to the rest of the week, Met \u00c9ireann has said that there is a good deal of uncertainty, but there will be some small accumulations of rain while temperatures remain around the high teens to low 20s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Most of continental Europe is set for an intense heatwave, with highs of 40C forecast.
