Stephen Baldwin was originally supposed to star in a romantic comedy alongside Jennifer Aniston but was apparently focusing too much on the comedy part.<\/p>\n
The \u201cUsual Suspects\u201d actor was due to star in 1998’s \u201cThe Object of My Affection\u201d with the former \u201cFriends\u201d star but got a surprising note from producers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter like the second day of shooting, after lunch, this producer comes to my trailer and goes, \u2018There’s a problem,\u2019\u201d he recalled on the \u201cOne Bad Movie\u201d podcast<\/a>. “I go, \u2018What’s up?\u2019 He goes, \u2018You can’t be funnier than Jennifer.\u2019 “[I said] \u2018Is this a joke? This is a comedy movie! Am I about to get punked? What do you even mean by that?’<\/p>\n Baldwin continued, \u201cThey didn’t say it’s not working first. They just went, \u2018There’s a problem. Can you just say the words [and] use your instinct for your responses that you’ve come up with?\u2019 And I’m now like, \u2018You’ve just mauled my face like a f****** wolverine asking me to just numb myself.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The 60-year-old actor was left feeling confused and \u201ccastrated comedically\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI was wondering was it really about my good looks and was I fat? I was freaking out,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Baldwin says he attempted to take on board the feedback but was ultimately let go and replaced by John Pankow.<\/p>\n \u201cI get back in there and I try not to be me. They let me go. They told me I could go home and that was all cool. But that’s just awkward.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cBio Dome\u201d star stressed he wasn’t sure if the initial feedback had come from producers, director Nicholas Hytner, or Aniston herself.<\/p>\n After Baldwin\u2019s guest, T.J. Miller, defended his \u201cOffice Christmas Party\u201d co-star Aniston as “really funny”, Baldwin clarified, \u201cThis isn’t to shred anybody.
