Coronation Street<\/a> star Gareth Pierce has shared a major achievement away from the cobbles, earning praise from soap fans. The Todd Grimshaw<\/a> star has taken on the Dragon Ride Medio Fondo, one of the UK’s biggest cycling events involving a 154km-long cycle with 2345m of climbing.<\/p>\n

The sportive took place last weekend in the Bannau Brycheiniog in Wales, with Pierce participating to raise funds for Age UK. <\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram after the event, the soap star shared his impressions and thanked all of his supporters who donated to the cause.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“Wow! Some aching limbs today, but a full heart and full coffers too – thanks to your generous donations. You’ve sent us soaring towards the \u00a31000 mark for @age_uk,” he captioned an Instagram<\/a> carousel of pictures from the big day, including a joyous snap where he lifts his bike above his head with a big smile on his face.<\/p>\n

He continued: “Diolch @dragonridewales and all volunteers for hosting such an excellent event & big congrats to all the riders.”<\/p>\n

The actor previously shared that he’d be racing in the competition, posting a video<\/a> on his social media: “Spinning my legs at this year’s @dragonridewales on SUNDAY 14th JUNE!<\/p>\n

Age UK commented on Pierce’s endeavor on Instagram, writing: “Huge well done Gareth from all of us here at Age UK! Thank you so much for all your support and for taking on such a massive challenge “<\/p>\n

Pierce also received praise from his Corrie co-stars as well as followers on social media, with Asha Alahan star Tanisha Gorey writing: “Woohoo!!!! We love you!!!!!”<\/p>\n

Lewis Magee, who also starred in Coronation Street as Miles Silverton, commented: “Legend.”<\/p>\n

“So proud of you, Gareth!” a fan offered. “Congratulations on completing your charity cycle for Age UK. What an amazing achievement for such a great cause\u2014you should be really proud of yourself.”<\/p>\n
