Chris Appleton has been announced as the latest celebrity to be joining Strictly Come Dancing 2026.<\/p>\n

The hair stylist \u2013 who is best known for working with stars including Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez \u2013 said he was counting down to appearing in the BBC series.<\/p>\n

He said: “I\u2019m thrilled to be joining Strictly Come Dancing and coming home to the UK for this incredible experience.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve always believed that the best things happen when you take a chance and try something new.<\/p>\n

“I may know my way around a salon floor but the dance floor is a whole different story \u2013 and I can\u2019t wait to get started.”<\/p>\n

Appleton\u2019s other celebrity clients include Sof\u00eda Vergara, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry.<\/p>\n

He has previously been named a “Hair Star” by Vogue UK and his work has been showcased on covers and in major features for publications including Vogue, Harper\u2019s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Grazia, L\u2019Officiel Paris, and more.<\/p>\n

The hair stylist also recently made the New York Times Best Sellers list for his memoir Your Roots Don\u2019t Define You.<\/p>\n

Hailing from Leicester, some of Appleton\u2019s first celebrity clients included Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora, with whom he worked for two years.<\/p>\n

In 2016 he moved to Los Angeles and soon after was approached to do Christina Aguilera\u2019s hair on The Voice, which he once said had a “snowball effect” and saw him acquire a string of other famous clients.<\/p>\n

Appleton has two children, Billy and Kitty-Blu, with his former partner Katie Katon.<\/p>\n

He was previously married to The White Lotus star Lukas Gage. Months after first being linked romantically in 2023, they were married in a ceremony officiated at by Kardashian, and were serenaded by Shania Twain, who performed a stripped-down version of You\u2019re Still The One.<\/p>\n

Six months later Appleton filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”.<\/p>\n

He joins the new Strictly line-up alongside actress Lacey Turner, reality star Dani Dyer and singer Delta Goodrem, with more names to be announced over the coming months.<\/p>\n

The news of his casting comes weeks after broadcaster Emma Willis, professional dancer Johannes Radebe and comedian Josh Widdicombe were announced as the new hosts for the upcoming series.<\/p>\n

They will preside over the ballroom and replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman after they announced they were leaving the show late last year.<\/p>\n

Strictly Come Dancing returns to screens later this year.<\/p>\n
