\n\tKaty Perry<\/a> is gearing up to release new music.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Thursday (June 18), the pop superstar unveiled the cover art and release date for her new single, \u201cWatch It Burn,\u201d which arrives June 25.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe artwork features a close-up of Perry\u2019s face illuminated by a glowing light, with beads of water covering her skin.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWatch It Burn June 25th,\u201d Perry captioned the image on Instagram<\/a>, along with a lit cigarette emoji.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cFirework\u201d singer also opened up about the song during an interview released Wednesday (June 17) with Justin Tranter on Unfamous the Podcast.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn \u2018Watch It Burn,\u2019 I am wrestling with my darkness but last year was pretty tough,\u201d Perry told Tranter<\/a>, who co-wrote the track. \u201cI have not given myself permission to be angry my whole life over things where I should be f\u2014king angry about. What I\u2019ve done is I pushed it down, but I should be f\u2014king angry. I\u2019m allowed to be angry for a f\u2014king moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, \u201cSo instead of falling into\u2019 \u2018Woe is me,\u2019 I just was like, \u2018Okay, let\u2019s just feel this f\u2014king pain,\u2019 let\u2019s feel this pain, let\u2019s feel this anger and let\u2019s move on, let\u2019s learn from it also.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPerry also previewed the song<\/a> in a social media clip, in which she dons an all-black ensemble while holding a baseball bat amid a graffiti-filled backdrop and a pi\u00f1ata.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know I gave and I gave\/ Now I\u2019m giving up, there\u2019s nothing more you can take\/ Don\u2019t wanna cause a scene, but give me the gasoline,\u201d she sings. \u201cTonight\u2019s the night, I light a match\/ Throw it hard behind my back\/ Gonna try to forgive and forget\/ Light a cigarette, and watch it burn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPerry officially debuted<\/a> \u201cWatch It Burn\u201d during her headlining set at Spain\u2019s O Son do Cami\u00f1o on Friday (June 18).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new track follows Perry\u2019s most recent album, 143, which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in October 2024.<\/p>\n
