{"id":509681,"date":"2026-06-20T13:57:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T13:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/509681\/"},"modified":"2026-06-20T13:57:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T13:57:09","slug":"man-77-dies-after-tractor-crash-in-co-tyrone-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/509681\/","title":{"rendered":"Man (77) dies after tractor crash in Co Tyrone \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A 77-year-old man has died following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/road-safety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/road-safety\">tractor crash<\/a> in the Fintona area outside Omagh, Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tyrone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tyrone\">Tyrone<\/a> on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/police-service-of-northern-ireland-psni\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/police-service-of-northern-ireland-psni\">Police Service of Northern Ireland<\/a> (PSNI) said the man involved in the single-vehicle crash was Dessie Sheridan, from Tattyreagh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cWe were advised around 6pm on Friday of a collision involving a red Massey Ferguson 185 tractor in the Tullycunny Road area,\u201d Det Insp Dave Stewart, from the PSNI\u2019s collision investigation unit, said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">However, Sheridan was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Stewart said the road would remain closed for much of Saturday.
