{"id":509974,"date":"2026-06-20T18:11:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T18:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/509974\/"},"modified":"2026-06-20T18:11:17","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T18:11:17","slug":"two-men-on-theft-charges-brought-before-special-court-sitting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/509974\/","title":{"rendered":"Two men on theft charges brought before special court sitting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two men have appeared before a special sitting of a Donegal court on separate theft charges.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Mongan, a 19-year-old of Cashel Park, Lisnennan, Letterkenny, and John Ward, a 21-year-old with an address at Cuirt Na Cora, Weir Road, Tuam, Co Galway, were brought before a special sitting of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/courts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Letterkenny District Court<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The two were brought before Judge Emile Daly by Gardai having been arrested on foot of warrants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mongan has been charged with stealing \u20ac220 worth of perfume from McElhinney\u2019s Stores, Main Street, Ballybofey on February 17, 2026.
