Clare hurler David Reidy has been released from hospital and is making a good recovery after suffering a head injury late in Saturday evening’s win over Dublin.<\/a>\n <\/p>\n

The Banner substitute, who was introduced in the 65th minute, was hit with a high challenge from Dublin sub Brendan Kenny, who was red-carded by referee James Owens.<\/p>\n

The game was delayed for 10 minutes as Reidy received treatment on the pitch and he was taken to hospital for assessment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Clare GAA statement on Sunday read: “David Reidy has been released from hospital and is recovering well following the injury he sustained in yesterday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

“A huge thank you to the first responders and medical teams from @GaaClare and @DubGAAOfficial, as well as the staff at FBD Semple Stadium, for the outstanding care and attention provided.<\/p>\n

“Many thanks to all who have sent messages of support and well wishes to David.”<\/p>\n

On RT\u00c9’s The Sunday Game, Joanne Cantwell and Anthony Daly praised Dublin forward John Hetherton for his instant reaction to go to Reidy’s aid, even as scuffles developed after the incident.<\/p>\n

Cantwell said: “The moment it happened John Hetherton was the very first person in there and he stayed with him there for a very long time, even when a scuffle had broken out to the side and there was sorts of noise.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
