{"id":511768,"date":"2026-06-21T23:45:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T23:45:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/511768\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T23:45:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T23:45:13","slug":"two-leitrim-priests-celebrate-golden-jubilees-with-special-mass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/511768\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Leitrim priests celebrate golden jubilees with special Mass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A special Mass was held in Annaduff, Co Leitrim, today to mark the 50th anniversary of the ordination of two local priests.<\/p>\n<p>It marked the golden jubilees of Fr Frank Garvey, from Drumsna, and Fr Cathal Faughnan, from Annaduff.<\/p>\n<p>Fr Garvey is the parish priest of Carrick-on-Shannon and the administrator of Annaduff and Kiltubrid.<\/p>\n<p>Fr Faughnan was the parish priest of Kilronan, which includes Keadue, Arigna and Ballyfarnon in north Roscommon, before he retired from active ministry in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>During Mass today, the Annaduff Choir sang &#8216;You&#8217;ll Never Walk Alone&#8217;, as Fr Garvey&#8217;s favourite football team is Liverpool FC.
