Martha Avila, 76, died after the Tesla Model 3 owned by Michael Butler, 44, smashed through the wall of her home in Katy on June 19.<\/p>\n
Martha was at home with her daughter, Jennifer Barbour, son-in-law, Justin, and their three young children.<\/p>\n
In jaw-dropping doorbell footage, the Tesla can be seen racing at full throttle over the home\u2019s front garden.<\/p>\n
About a second later, the electric vehicle penetrates the property\u2019s exterior, leaving a gaping hole.<\/p>\n

Deafening audio captured the loud bang and screech as the car hit the front room which was used as a playroom for the children.<\/p>\n
Aftermath footage showed the black Tesla lodged in the playroom as its hazard warning lights flashed rapidly.<\/p>\n
Emergency services rushed to the scene, including a helicopter which rushed Martha to hospital. <\/p>\n
But she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving, despite the efforts of medics.<\/p>\n

Martha\u2019s heartbroken family paid tribute to her, sharing photos of the beloved grandma.<\/p>\n
Justin\u00a0Barbour told KHOU 11 she was cooking at the stove just 30 seconds before the deadly crash.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, her daughter Jennifer, who was in the backyard at the time, said she heard a loud boom.<\/p>\n
She quickly found her three children.<\/p>\n
But after the dust settled, she discovered that her mother had been struck.<\/p>\n
Jennifer said: \u201cMy three kids were at my neighbor\u2019s when we went to the hospital to check on my mom.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then they told us they couldn\u2019t save her. The kids are devastated.\u201d<\/p>\n
The driver Butler was also injured in the crash but survived after being rushed to hospital by ambulance.<\/p>\n
Local police said Butler showed no signs of intoxication and is co-operating fully with authorities.<\/p>\n
Tesla\u2019s autopilot feature, despite its name, still requires drivers to oversee the vehicle while it is moving.<\/p>\n
It has been at the center of several crashes and accidents over the years.<\/p>\n
