British indie film Bird, starring Barry Keoghan, has landed a new streaming home in the UK. The 2024 drama was added to MUBI recently, which can be added as a Prime Video<\/a> channel to Amazon Prime and comes with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.<\/p>\n

Bird comes from writer and director Andrea Arnold, who previously helmed Fish Tank and the 2011 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which starred Kaya Scodelario. <\/p>\n

Alongside Keoghan, Bird also stars Nykiya Adams (making her big screen debut), Franz Rogowski, and Top Boy’s Jasmine Jobson.<\/p>\n

It follows 12-year-old Bailey (Adams), who lives in a run-down flat with her father Bug (Keoghan), as she navigates her dad’s upcoming wedding and the arrival of a mysterious stranger named Bird. <\/p>\n

Digital Spy described Bird as “stunning” in our four-star review<\/a> of the film, calling it one of the best British movies of 2024.<\/p>\n

Bird holds a 86% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, with critics particularly praising Arnold’s vision and the performances of Adams and Keoghan.

The Independent<\/a> called it “a fragile but beautiful vision”, adding that it “marks the strongest blend yet of Andrea Arnold\u2019s primary directives as a filmmaker”.<\/p>\n

The London Evening Standard<\/a> wrote: “Adams carries the film on her young shoulders and is aided by the support of Keoghan, whose portrayal as her charming, volatile, loving and erratic father is a tour de force.”<\/p>\n

While TIME magazine<\/a> said: “This is what Arnold is so great at capturing: people just doing their best, which often means they surpass every expectation without even knowing it. Her generosity toward her characters is also generosity toward us.”<\/p>\n
