\n\tAlongside the previously announced Hugo Weaving<\/a>, Eamon Farren (\u201cJimpa,\u201d The Witcher\u201d), Arlo Green (\u201cMum, I\u2019m Alien Pregnant,\u201d \u201cM3GAN\u201d), Miranda Otto<\/a> (\u201cTalk to Me,\u201d \u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d) and Sacha Horler (\u201cThe Dressmaker,\u201d \u201cPeter Rabbit\u201d) have joined the show, as have Brigid Zengeni (\u201cThe Artful Dodger,\u201d \u201cMissing You\u201d), James Majoos (\u201cHeartbreak High\u201d), Emily Barclay (\u201cBabyteeth,\u201d \u201cInbetween\u201d) and Dinasha Perera.<\/p>\n

\n\tBehind the camera, Alyssa McClelland (\u201cSex Education,\u201d \u201cMy Brilliant Career\u201d) serves as set-up director, actor and filmmaker Mia Wasikowska<\/a> makes her TV directing debut and Cannes-selected Samantha Lang (\u201cThe Well,\u201d \u201cCarlotta\u201d) also directs.<\/p>\n

\n\tFrom ABC, Screen Australia and U.K. and Australia-based See-Saw, the Mediawan-owned and Oscar-winning powerhouse production company behind \u201cSlow Horses,\u201d \u201cApple Cider Vinegar\u201d and \u201cHeartstopper,\u201d \u201cThe Great White\u201d sees Weaving play a brilliant but disgraced barrister who is slapped with a twelve-month supervision order for professional misconduct and finds himself working out of a struggling law office. Crushed by debt and desperate to restore his reputation, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous dog case he considers far beneath him.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, what begins as a fight to save a dog\u2019s life draws him into the unexpected world of animal law and becomes a series of cases on behalf of animals, culminating in an audacious Supreme Court challenge to free a zoo elephant.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Great White\u201d was originated and developed by Samantha Lang and created by acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Ange Betzien (\u201cApple Cider Vinegar\u201d) \u2013 both executive producers. Writers are Betzien, Nick Coyle and Andrew Anastasios. ABC Australia is set to broadcast \u201cThe Great White\u201d in Australia with Mediawan and Entourage Media handling international sales.<\/p>\n
