{"id":513772,"date":"2026-06-23T05:06:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T05:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/513772\/"},"modified":"2026-06-23T05:06:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T05:06:11","slug":"madonna-says-biopic-was-shelved-after-fall-out-with-universal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/513772\/","title":{"rendered":"Madonna Says Biopic Was Shelved\u00a0After\u00a0Fall\u00a0Out With Universal\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/madonna\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Madonna<\/a>\u00a0is saying goodbye to her highly anticipated biopic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Power of Good-Bye\u201d singer\u00a0recently\u00a0stated\u00a0that production for a film based on her life was halted over financial and creative differences with Universal Pictures.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was supposed to make a movie about my life,\u201d Madonna told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.interviewmagazine.com\/music\/madonna-confessions-on-a-dancefloor-nadia-lee-cohen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Interview<\/a>\u00a0in a story published June 22. \u201cI worked on my script for two years and spent two years at Universal Studios with the line producers doing budgeting and casting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a falling out, me and Universal, regarding budget because I needed\u2014I\u2019ve had an extraordinary life,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019ve had a huge life, so I needed a big budget.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cVogue\u201d hitmaker claimed that though she presented solutions for lowering the project\u2019s budget,\u00a0they\u00a0ultimately\u00a0weren\u2019t able to move forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey couldn\u2019t get their heads around it,\u201d she explained. \u201cI found a way to make it for less money in Serbia, but I don\u2019t think they were into the idea of\u2014I don\u2019t know.
