\n\tJon Stewart<\/a> took aim at the unsightly infestation of algae<\/a> in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, questioning Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s inability to get the situation under control. <\/p>\n

\n\tBefore breaking down J.D. Vance\u2019s recent participation in the negotiations with Iran, Stewart focused on the reflecting pool, feigning shock that Trump has yet again tried to fix something that isn\u2019t broken. \u201cThe Trump administration continues to try and find a solution to an intractable, problematic waterway in a dangerous part of the world,\u201d Stewart quipped. <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter playing a series of news clips explaining that the new coating in the pool is now peeling off<\/a>. The clip explained how the pool\u2019s high phosphate levels have caused a \u201csignificant algae bloom\u201d that turned it into \u201ca sea of green.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat is really fucking green,\u201d Stewart responded. \u201cThat shit\u2019s neon. Did they replace the water with Mountain Dew? Didn\u2019t they just have a pool company come in and fix it? How did it get so green?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMore news clips revealed that one of the companies enlisted with the task of renovating the pool was the unfortunately named Greenwater Services. The company won the job in no-bid contract and is owned by a trust run by Republican donor John Cafaro. Stewart shared a photo of Cafaro, joking that he looks \u201can extra in Guys and Dolls.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s the pool guy? Does Donald Trump do business with anyone normal?\u201d Stewart said. \u201cIt\u2019s like Donnie Brasco got stung by a bee. I\u2019m sorry, to be fair, that\u2019s probably an old picture from, like, the \u201980s when Gomez Addams was all the rage. Who is this guy?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStewart cut to Anderson Cooper explaining that Cafaro is a \u201cMar-a-Lago neighbor\u201d who, in 2001, \u201cpled guilty to conspiracy to bribe then-congressman James Traficant Jr.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe pool guy?\u201d Stewart said. \u201cThe pool guy bribed the congressman, and now he gets the pool contract \u2014 that tracks.\u201d He mimicked a mob boss voice, adding, \u201c\u2018What do I do? Let\u2019s just say I\u2019m in the chlorine management business.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n
