More than\u00a0one\u00a0million children and their families are to\u00a0benefit\u00a0from the latest \u20ac4.7\u00a0million\u00a0in\u00a0grants from the RT\u00c9 Toy Show Appeal announced\u00a0today.\u00a0<\/p>\n
RT\u00c9 and Community Foundation Ireland are\u00a0confirming\u00a0173\u00a0grants from\u00a0the\u00a0appeal,\u00a0which will transform\u00a0lives of children right across the country in\u00a0different,\u00a0innovative\u00a0ways. All of this is possible due to the remarkable generosity of RT\u00c9 viewers\u00a0from\u00a0last December\u2019s\u00a0Late\u00a0Late\u00a0Toy Show.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
To date, the\u00a0RT\u00c9\u00a0Toy Show Appeal has raised over\u00a0\u20ac31\u00a0million euro for Irish charities since its\u00a0inception\u00a0six\u00a0years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 2025 RT\u00c9 Toy Show Appeal was launched\u00a0last\u00a0November\u00a0by jockey Rachael Blackmore.\u00a0She highlighted the Jack de Bromhead Equine Centre at\u00a0ChildVision, a project close to her heart that is supported by the Appeal.<\/p>\n
RT\u00c9 Director-General, Kevin Bakhurst said:\u00a0\u201cThe RT\u00c9 Toy Show Appeal holds\u00a0a very special\u00a0place for all of us in RT\u00c9, and we are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of our\u00a0Late\u00a0Late\u00a0Toy Show\u00a0audience. Their support is making a real difference to children and families across the island of Ireland, such as those I met at\u00a0the\u00a0Down Syndrome\u00a0Centre\u00a0last week, transforming lives year after year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The RT\u00c9 Toy Show Appeal, in partnership with Community Foundation Ireland, also announced today that the following\u00a0three\u00a0charities are to receive\u00a0transformative\u00a0grants of \u20ac140,000 each.<\/p>\n
They are:\u00a0<\/p>\n
ARC\u00a0Cancer Support\u00a0
ARC Cancer Support provides trauma-informed support and counselling to children,\u00a0teenagers\u00a0and their families whose lives have been shaped by cancer, giving them tools to process fear,\u00a0grief\u00a0and anxiety.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Community Law & Mediation\u00a0\u00a0
Community Law & Mediation is an\u00a0independent\u00a0community-focused law\u00a0centre,\u00a0established\u00a0in 1975. It\u00a0provides\u00a0free legal advice,\u00a0mediation\u00a0and education services in communities\u00a0impacted\u00a0by social exclusion,\u00a0disadvantage\u00a0and inequality. With this grant, it aims to\u00a0establish\u00a0a dedicated legal service for children and young people.\u00a0
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Early Learning Initiative\u00a0
The Early Learning Initiative at the National College of Ireland (NCI) provides educational, early intervention, and family engagement programs. Targeted primarily at Dublin\u2019s inner city, it empowers parents in marginaliszed communities by modelling learning-through-play activities. This\u00a0transformative grant will fund a project that aims to develop an evidence\u2011informed national scaling framework for Parenting365, an inclusive early\u2011intervention model for children with\u00a0additional\u00a0needs and their families.\u00a0
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a0remainder\u00a0of the donations will be split amongst 170\u00a0charities across the island of Ireland by charity partner Community Foundation Ireland,\u00a0who manage the grant process on behalf of RT\u00c9 and its viewers. Among the recipient charities are\u00a0organisations\u00a0like Oscar\u2019s Kids Ireland,\u00a0Hygiene\u00a0Hub,\u00a0Irish Foster Care Association, Muscular Dystrophy\u00a0Ireland\u00a0and\u00a0Irish Aerial Creation Centre.\u00a0

Local projects and\u00a0organisations\u00a0across\u00a0Ireland will receive grants to help with a diverse range of needs including meeting basic needs like food and essentials, disability supports, creativity and play and bereavement support.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a3398,000\u00a0has been awarded to charities and\u00a0organisations\u00a0in Northern Ireland\u00a0this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
