Two images have been released for I Am Helen<\/a>, the latest addition to Dominic Savage’s I Am series, giving us our first look at Nicola Coughlan and Joe Cole in their roles.<\/p>\n

The two-part season, which has once again been written and directed by Savage and produced by award winning Me+You Productions, stars Coughlan as Helen, with the Bridgerton<\/a> actor having developed the story with Savage.<\/p>\n

Peaky Blinders<\/a> star Cole’s role is currently under wraps, but he appears to be playing Helen’s partner, with the images showing the two of them sat on a bed, seemingly arguing.<\/p>\n

The synopsis for I Am Helen<\/a> says: “Told through a female lens, the story examines the pressures and expectations placed on women while confronting the realities of toxic masculinity and the damage it can create in modern relationships.”<\/p>\n

There have been three previous seasons of I Am, although the most recent was just one episode, I Am Ruth, which starred Kate Winslet and aired in 2022.<\/p>\n

Other actors to have taken the lead in episodes of I Am have included Vicky McClure, Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan, Suranne Jones, Letitia Wright and Lesley Manville.<\/p>\n

I Am Helen will be the first time in the show’s history that one story stretches across two episodes, which are set to air on Channel 4 later this year.<\/p>\n

When the season was first announced, Coughlan said in a statement: “It\u2019s an absolute honour to be part of telling the next I Am\u2026 story alongside Dominic Savage \u2013 a singular talent and a storyteller deeply committed to exploring the breadth of the female experience.<\/p>\n

“To follow in the footsteps of the brilliant women who\u2019ve collaborated with him on this series feels truly surreal, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be embarking on this journey.”<\/p>\n

I Am Ruth won two BAFTA awards and one RTS award, while the series has also been nominated a number of additional times by both awards bodies.<\/p>\n

I Am Helen will air on Channel 4.<\/p>\n
