The first half was a rather dire affair, with neither side creating any real chances of note. Ghana were content to defend in a low block, with England struggling to break them down.<\/p>\n
There was a bit more intensity in the game after the interval. Ghana certainly seemed more willing to commit numbers forward, while England got a bit more possession in and around the edge of the box. Despite this, they rarely threatened the opposition goal.<\/p>\n
Thomas Tuchel’s side were largely limited to hopeful efforts from the edge of the box. Ghana actually looked like the more dangerous side for much of the second half, causing some issues with their pace in forward areas.<\/p>\n
England would have a couple of late chances to win it, with Nico O’Reilly hitting the bar with a header before Harry Kane skied the rebound. They would also fail to make the most of a number of set-pieces in the dying moments.<\/p>\n
